NYSACRA has announced an award by the New York State OPWDD to NYSACRA for the continuation of work set forth in the first phase of NYSACRA’s BIP Grant. The addendum will allow for enhancements in all three segments of the original grant:
- Assistive technology,
- Person centered planning, and
- A greater concentration in the area of creation of housing resources.
The HRC will provide NYSACRA members and all housing stakeholders with Technical Assistance on housing matters and community training for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and their families. The Center will act as a clearinghouse for information and resources from the Housing Navigators across the state, and will help to foster collaboration between and among the housing industry and related professions, service provider agencies and people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. In addition, the HRC will be a standalone website for resources and sharing of education and information related to housing.
Carol Napierski, Senior Director of Administration at NYSACRA and John Maltby from the Westchester Institute for Human Development (WIHD) will serve as Co-Directors of the Center.
Please feel free to contact Carol Napierski at the NYSACRA offices for additional information firstname.lastname@example.org.”
