Dustin Sweeney will be celebrating his First Communion at Church of the Blessed Sacrament on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at 4:00pm. The Mass will be celebrated by Father John Duffell.
The Special Needs community at Blessed Sacrament has been spearheaded by Jackie Ceonzo of SNACK and championed by Father Duffell; and it has led to many great things including the ArchCare @ Saint Teresa, a special needs housing community on Staten Island. Many thanks to Jackie and Susan George for advocating for our community with the Archdiocese of New York.
Many people of many faiths will be reading this invitation, and we would love for you to attend not because it is a Catholic event, but to witness the network that has evolved to support Dustin and his friends and to be surrounded by the positivity, hope, joy, and purpose this community begets. This is another step in the journey to answer the ‘Big Question’ of what happens when Mike and Katie are gone. We believe Faith-Based organizations and communities will play an integral role in helping us create a meaningful, productive, and joy-filled life for Dusty infused with love and warmth. Spirituality comes in all dimensions, manifestations, and forms. Come celebrate with The Sweeney Family in whatever way is meaningful to you and be surrounded with the love that will fill this gorgeous Church on this special Sunday.
